1694

In 1694, beneath the gilded ceilings of Turin, the Royal Court of the House of Savoy entrusted Gian Piero Marchisio with its most precious symbols. Together with Joannin Marchisio, he created jewellery designed not merely to adorn, but to endure: emblems of power, beauty and devotion to the art of goldsmithing.

In 1860, Giovanni Marchisio turned a vision into reality by founding the Antica Ditta Marchisio. Shortly afterwards, the maison was awarded the historic "1TO" hallmark, the first issued by the Piedmontese authorities: a seal of purity, trust and craftsmanship that forever links the Marchisio name to Turin.

In 1995, Luciano Mattioli and his daughter Licia discovered a legacy waiting to be reborn. They acquired Antica Ditta Marchisio not to preserve its past, but to propel it into the future. Vision, technology and training revitalised the workshops, which grew from 30 to over 250 skilled artisans.

The Mattioli brand represents the transition from a great manufacturer of excellence to a creative maison with a strong and recognisable identity.

In the brand's first decade, the Puzzle collection was born — Mattioli's defining collection. Its sinuous trapezoidal forms echo the sculptures of Alexander Calder, while the use of colour draws inspiration from the aesthetic of Piet Mondrian, reflecting the founder's great passion for modern art.

In 2013, the story takes a new turn. Luciano and Licia Mattioli founded the Mattioli Group, owner of the Mattioli brand. It marked the beginning of a new industrial era, rooted in tradition yet open to the world. Since 2025, under the leadership of Claudio Pasta as CEO, the Mattioli brand has opened a new chapter: clear in its vision, bold in its evolution. Mattioli has thus established itself as a maison capable of evolving tradition without distorting it, transforming over three centuries of artisanal expertise into a language that looks towards the future of Italian jewellery.

A Life of Dreams

A lawyer by training and an entrepreneur by vocation, Licia Mattioli founded the Mattioli brand in 2000, establishing its international presence. At the helm of Mattioli S.p.A., she has helped transform the company into one of Italy’s leading luxury jewelry hubs, with over six hundred employees and a strong presence in global markets.

A key figure in the Italian industrial system, she has served as President of the Unione Industriali di Torino, President of Confindustria Federorafi, and Vice President of Confindustria with responsibility for internationalization and investment attraction.

In 2017, she was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro, the same honor bestowed over a century earlier on the founder Marchisio, and in 2025, Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana by President Sergio Mattarella. She is the Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco and President of the Fondazione Ordine Mauriziano.

The Soul of the Brand

Licia Mattioli is the beating heart, the passionate muse, and the creative flame that inspires the brand’s extraordinary and unmistakable collections. She envisions Mattioli women as dynamic and sophisticated, deeply feminine, self-aware, and independent: protagonists of their time and authentic interpreters of the contemporary spirit, capable of expressing their identity, strength, and elegance through jewelry.
